Hamilton Police: victim provoked injuries
Hamilton Police deny the injuries alleged by a Hamilton man at the centre of a drug raid at the wrong apartment – saying Po La Hay provoked the use of force against him.
It’s part of the statement of defence from the police service in the $2.5 million lawsuit filed by La Hay.
He was treated for broken bones and a gashed head, when a tactical squad burst into his Hamilton apartment in search of an alleged drug dealer who actually lived next door.
The statement goes on to say the Hamilton Police acted “reasonably and properly” during the raid, last May, and did not use excessive force to detain La Hay or his family.
