Hamilton Police have launched another blitz targeting noisy vehicles and aggressive drivers.

Project Pit Stop II comes after community complaints about excessive noise, stunt driving and illegally modified vehicles.

Police say these vehicles have been creating unsafe road conditions and have been a nuisance to the general public.

The Highway Traffic Act requires motor vehicles to be equipped with a muffler in good working order to prevent excessive or unusual noise and excessive smoke.

It prohibits the use of a muffler cut-out, straight exhaust, gutted muffler, by-pass or similar device.

The enforcement campaign will be underway until the end of August.

Project Pit Stop I resulted in more than 100 tickets.
