Hamilton police have seized roughly $1 million worth of drugs in one of the largest drug seizures in the city’s history.

Earlier this month, police began investigating suspected drug activity at a home in the area of Kenilworth Ave. North and Cannon St. East.

Last Friday, officers executed search warrants and seized cocaine, crystal meth, heroine, fentanyl, cash, four replica firearms, and drug paraphernalia.

Police say the seizure is one of the largest in Hamilton’s history, with the total weight of the drugs exceeding five kilograms. They say most of the drugs were packaged for “immediate sale.”

Khizar Ali, 33, from Toronto, Jody Leitch, 38, from Hamilton, Daniel Holland, 37, from Hamilton, Muhammad Sadik, 22, from Pickering, Ashley Macdonald, 33, from Hamilton, and a 17-year-old girl, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, have been arrested and face several drug trafficking charges.

Anyone with additional information that could help police with the investigation is asked to contact Det. Sgt. Jason Cattle at 905-546-3887.
