Hamilton police seize $60K in drugs during forcible confinement investigation

A Hamilton man is facing a slew of charges after police learned a person was being held against their will in the city.
Shortly after 12 p.m. Sunday, police learned a man was being forcibly confined at a home in the area of Sherman Ave. North and Barton St. East.
Officers immediately searched the home and located a man suffering from minor injuries.
Police say a 45-year-old man was arrested on scene and found to be carrying a substance believed to be heroin.
Several hours later, investigators executed a search warrant at the home. Police seized a loaded handgun and a quantity of drugs, including heroin and fentanyl that is believed to be worth roughly $60,000.
The 45-year-old man is facing a number of charges including assault with a weapon, point firearm, forcible confinement, and drug possession.
He is scheduled to appear in court later Monday.
