Hamilton police seek suspicious driver who tried to order teenage girl into car

Hamilton police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspicious driver who tried to lure a teenage girl into his vehicle downtown.

Officers said a man in a black four-door sedan approached a 14-year-old girl around 8 a.m. Monday near Ottawa St. South and Montclair Ave.

The driver told the girl to get into his vehicle, but she did not comply.

The vehicle then fled and was last seen driving northbound on Ottawa St. South from King St. East.

Police said no physical contact was initiated during the incident and no one was injured.

The male driver is described as white and in his early 20s. He has an average build, blonde hair, dark eyes and is clean shaven. He was last seen wearing a black sweater or sweatshirt.

Investigators said his vehicle is a newer model and well-maintained with tinted rear passenger windows.

Residents in the area are asked to review their exterior surveillance camera footage for the suspect vehicle described at the time of the incident.
