Hamilton police seek man wanted in Gage Park robbery, assault

Hamilton police asking for the public’s help in identifying a man wanted in connection with a robbery and an assault at Gage Park on Thursday evening.
Officers say a lone male was near the fountain in the park between 7:15 and 7:30 p.m. when the suspect asked him for the time. As the victim took out his cellphone to check the time, the suspect attempted to grab his cellphone and then hit him on his head with an unknown object.

Witnesses say they saw the suspect drop what appeared to be a black handgun when he was fleeing the scene.
Police say he picked up the firearm and left the park on a black, BMX-style bicycle.
