Hamilton police seek man accused of punching security guard

Hamilton police are looking for a suspect who is accused of punching a security guard in an unprovoked attack about two weeks ago.

The suspect allegedly jumped over a barrier that separates the Hamilton City Hall and Whitehern Historic House and Garden on June 17.

Officers say the accused went to the Whitehern Historic House and punched the security guard, a 23-year-old man.

The security guard quickly left the scene and contacted the police.

He was taken to the hospital and received medical treatment for swelling on the right side of his face.

Police say the male suspect is approximately 40 years old, between five-foot-eight and six feet tall, and weighs between 210 and 250 pounds. He has a buzz cut, muscular build and pronounced jawline.

He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with grey decal and blue jeans.
