Patient with “violent tendencies” escapes from St. Joseph’s

Hamilton police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 29-year-old Raymond Mitchell, who escaped from custody at St. Joseph’s Forensic Psychiatry Unit.

Police say he escaped shortly before 1:30 PM yesterday and was last seen in the area of East 16th St.

He is described as 5’8, with a heavy build – over 200lbs, with short black hair and slight facial hair.

He was last seen wearing a red t-shirt, red shorts, black shoes and a blue face mask. He may have discarded his clothing and may be wearing white underwear and a white t-shirt.

Police say Mitchell has violent tendencies and can be verbally aggressive towards other. If you see him, please call 911 and do not approach or attempt to communicate with him.
