Hamilton police are searching for a 37-year-old man wanted on assault related charges.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Brian Joseph Burt, who is wanted for assault level 1, assault with a weapon, mischief under $5,000, and failure to comply with a release order.

Police say Burt is known to frequent the Hamilton area, but is also connected to Haldimand-Norfolk.

Members of the public are asked to not approach Burt if he is seen, and contact 911 immediately.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the on duty Patrol Staff Sergeant at 905-546-2963.
