Hamilton police say a security guard was assaulted during the incident which was caught on video by a user on X, formerly twitter.

The video shows protestors attempting to gain entry to the convention while security guards and other individuals block their way on a set of stairs.

The protestors can be heard chanting “shut it down” and a woman with a megaphone mentions the people of Palestine.

The topic of the war between Israel and Hamas is part of the NDP’s emergency resolutions and will be discussed at 5:20 p.m. Saturday night.
