Hamilton police respond to group of protestors at NDP convention

There was a police presence at the NDP convention in Hamilton on Saturday after a group of about 30 protestors arrived at the event.
Hamilton police say a security guard was assaulted during the incident which was caught on video by a user on X, formerly twitter.
The video shows protestors attempting to gain entry to the convention while security guards and other individuals block their way on a set of stairs.

The protestors can be heard chanting “shut it down” and a woman with a megaphone mentions the people of Palestine.
The topic of the war between Israel and Hamas is part of the NDP’s emergency resolutions and will be discussed at 5:20 p.m. Saturday night.
Police say there were no arrests made and the individuals have now left the area.
