Hamilton police officer suspended after ‘concerning’ video surfaces

A criminal investigation has been launched into the actions of a Hamilton police officer after a “concerning” video surfaced.

Hamilton police issued a news release on Thursday saying they were aware of a video showing an interaction between a citizen and an officer.

“The interaction captured on the video is concerning and we have commenced a criminal investigation into the officer’s conduct,” said police. “Public trust and accountability are integral to our work and we are committed to upholding these values.”

Hamilton police did not provide any further details about the video.

They say the officer has been suspended.
