Hamilton Police make arrest in assault case

A recent Hamilton police investigation has led to an assault arrest in the area of Ontario Avenue and Main Street East.

Early on Saturday morning police arrested a 31-year-old man charged with several offences including assault with a weapon, forcible confinement and two counts of breach of probation. There was a heavy police presence in the area yesterday.

It is still unclear what led to the arrest.

Last night, neighbours told CHCH that a man had barricaded himself inside his home.
