Hamilton police looking to identify a male who assaulted a woman inside her home

Hamilton police have released security video in the hopes the public can help identify a male responsible for assaulting a female inside her home.
On March 6, shortly after 1:00 p.m, police responded to a home in the Meadowlands area of Ancaster for an assault.
Police say a man knocked on the front door and when the woman answered he entered the home. A short time later an altercation ensued and the female was assaulted.
Police found the 60-year-old woman suffering from injuries caused by an unknown edged weapon, she was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect was last seen fleeing the area in a newer model grey, 2-door Honda Civic. He is described as having black hair and beard, wearing a grey hooded sweater, grey pants and black shoes.
Police do not feel this was a random attack and believe people in the community may have information that could help with the investigation.
