Hamilton police looking for victim of robbery

Hamilton police are looking to connect with the victim of an attempted robbery.

On Sunday, May 8, police say an elderly woman was in the area of Main Street East and Victoria Avenue South when a man grabbed hold of her and attempted to steal a bag she was carrying.

The man was unsuccessful and the woman was able to fend him off. He fled the area soon after.

Police say the woman then made a purchase at a Canadian Tire, then left the area in an unknown direction.

Hamilton police say they are looking to speak with the woman in this matter. She is described as around 80-years-old, 5’4″, 110 pounds, gray hair, black pants, navy blue jacket, black and white runners, a blue head scarf with white designs and eye glasses.

Police say they have photos of the woman, but are not releasing them at this time.
