Three charged as police investigate shooting in central Hamilton

Hamilton Police have charged three people while investigating a shooting in the Gibson neighbourhood.
Police say the charges are not related to the shooting.
Officers were called to the area of Barton St. E and Birch Ave. around 9 p.m. Thursday.
A firearm had been discharged in a nearby laneway.
While responding to the call, they found three people walking in the area of Stirton St. and Cannon St.
One was of them was injured. Reports from the scene suggest he was shot in the leg.
Police say he was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries but has since been released.
Officers identified three others believed to be involved in the incident.
A 22-year-old Hamilton man is facing weapons charges.
Two 16-year-old males from Hamilton were also charged.
One with failure to comply with release orders, the other for robbery-related charges.
Police say the shooter has not been identified and the victim is not co-operating.
