Hamilton Police investigating reports of shots fired in Mount Hope

Hamilton Police are investigating a shooting near Highway 6 and Leeming Rd. in Mount Hope Wednesday evening.

Officers were called for reports of shots fired around 8 p.m. There were no reports of injuries.

Witnesses told police one or more suspects fired multiple rounds from a firearm before leaving the area, possibly in a vehicle.

Detectives are treating this as a targeted incident for now and say the motive is unclear.

Police are asking area residents to check surveillance cameras. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 905-546-8970.
