Hamilton police investigating first homicide of 2021

Hamilton police are investigating the city’s first homicide of 2021.

Police were called to a sudden death incident at 94 MacNab St. N around 9 a.m. Monday.

A 35-year-old man was found dead in his apartment.

“The nature of the death was immediately suspicious,” police said in a news release.

They confirm the man was a homicide victim but are not releasing the cause of death. 

Police say there are no witnesses at this time.

Detectives are canvassing the area for surveillance video. They are asking for video dating back to Jan. 28 as they don’t believe the victim was murdered in the last 24 hours.
