Woman dies after vehicle plummets down escarpment in Stoney Creek

Hamilton police say a woman has died after her vehicle plummeted down the escarpment in Stoney Creek.

Officers were called to the intersection of Third Rd. East and Ridge Rd. just before 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday for reports of a single-vehicle collision.

Police say a woman from Burlington was driving her 2021 Honda Civic when it left the roadway. The vehicle dropped down the side of the escarpment and came to a rest near the area of Millen Rd. and Maple Dr.

The 37-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not released her identity.
