Hamilton police investigating after cyclist struck and killed near Burlington Lift Bridge

A Stoney Creek man was struck and killed while on his bicycle near the Burlington Lift Bridge on Monday, Hamilton police say.
The 47-year-old man was riding southbound on Eastport Dr. around 6:30 p.m. when he was struck by a driver in a sedan travelling in the same direction.
The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say they are still investigating what exactly happened and haven’t ruled out speed or impairment as contributing factors.
The driver, a 30-year-old Hamilton man, remained at the scene and is cooperating.
