Hamilton police investigate shooting in rural Flamborough

Hamilton police are investigated an overnight shooting in rural Flamborough.

Officers were called to the area of Old Highway 8 and Highway 8 for reports of a shooting shortly after 1 a.m. on Friday.

“Police attended and upon arrival, officers immediately secured the area and searched for anyone involved; however no suspects were located,” said Hamilton police in a news release. “Through continued investigation, police can confirm a shooting incident occurred.”

Investigators say no injuries were reported.

The investigation has been taken over by Division Three Criminal Investigation Branch.

Detectives are appealing to area residents to check their security cameras and dashcam footage between12:30 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. for any suspicious activity.
