Hamilton police investigate serious Upper James Street crash

Hamilton police are investigating a serious crash that happened on Sunday afternoon on Upper James Street that sent three people to hospital.
Officers are investigating a two-vehicle collision that happened before 1 p.m. on Upper James Street between Dickenson and English Church Roads.
Detectives allege that the crash involved a 2010 Hyundai Elantra going southbound being rear-ended by a 2016 Honda Civic.
Police say that the Hyundai was driven by a 86-year-old Hamilton woman with her 59-year-old daughter and the Honda was driven by a 24-year-old man from Hagersville.
Emergency crews sent all three people from the crash to hospital with serious injuries. The 86-year-old woman has life-threatening injuries while the other two have serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Police made a post on X at around 3 p.m. and closed the portions of the north and southbound traffic routes. The roads were reopened after 7 p.m.
Officers are asking for any witnesses to the collision or anyone with camera footage between 12:40 and 12:55 p.m. to contact police at 905-546-4753.
