Hamilton Police Investigate Rural Home Invasion

A resident in the Millgrove area was injured following a home invasion around 8:00 p.m. Saturday night.
Police say the victim was with a few friends inside his residence at 5th Concession Road West and Millgrove Side when two men wearing masks entered his home through the back door, one carrying a handgun.
The men demanded the victim to hand over “specific items” before assaulting him. The victims friends fled the scene during the assault. Police say the victim was also able to get away a short time after that, leaving the suspects inside.
Police say they met the victim and witnesses at a nearby property. They went to the victim’s residence to find the suspects gone while nothing in the home appeared to be stolen.
The suspects are both described as black men, around 18-25 years old, 5’10” and have thin builds. One was wearing a black winter jacket with white/grey fur around the hood and a blue medical mask. The other was wearing black pull up ‘scarf type’ mask. It is not known how the suspects arrived or left the area.
Detectives believe this was a targeted incident.
Police are asking anyone who could have information to help this investigation to contact Detective Constable Jared Millington by calling 905-546-8966.
