Hamilton police investigate break in at Canadian Tire store

Hamilton police are hoping the public can help identify a man captured on surveillance video during a break in.

Officers were called to a break and enter at the Canadian Tire on Barton St. East shortly before 1 a.m. on Aug. 18.

Police say a man broke into the store by smashing through the glass of the front door and once inside, he stole some merchandise. The suspect was last seen fleeing on foot northbound from the plaza.

Investigators are looking for a white male, between 25 and 30 years of age, roughly five-foot-nine, with a medium build, facial hair and short brown hair. He was wearing a black baseball cap with a decal on the front, a black hooded sweatshirt, long black and red shorts, white socks, black running shoes with white soles, and a black backpack with grey or blue straps.
