Hamilton police hope $50K reward will lead to arrests in Musitano murder

Hamilton’s police chief is recommending a $50,000 reward be offered for information leading to the arrests of those responsible for the death of Angelo Musitano.
Musitano, 39, was shot multiple times on May 2, 2017 while sitting inside his pickup truck in the driveway of his family home in Waterdown.
He was a well-known member of the notorious Musitano crime family in Hamilton and police believe his “very public execution” was a result of his involvement in “the family business.”
Following Musitano’s death, police discovered a link between his murder and the slaying of 28-year-old Barberi and attempted murder of her boyfriend, Saverio Serrano, in March 2017.
Barberi was killed in broad daylight as she sat in a parked car outside of a business in York Region. Serrano was also in the vehicle and suffered only minor injuries in the shooting. Police believe he was the intended target.
Following a year-long investigation, police arrested Jabril Hassan Abdalla, 27, at his home in Hamilton and issued Canada-wide arrest warrants for Michael Graham Cudmore, 37, of Hamilton and Daniel Mario Tomassetti, 27, of Ancaster.

All three men are facing two counts of first degree murder, attempted murder and three counts of conspiracy to commit murder.
Police believe Cudmore and Tomassetti have fled to Mexico and are aware they are wanted and are choosing not to return to Canada.
“It is believed that friends, family or associates of Michael Cudmore and Daniel Tomassetti are aware of their current whereabouts and that a financial reward will motivate them to provide the information to investigators to aid to their arrests,” said Girt in the recommendation.
Police believe the reward may also lead to information that would identify other involved in Musitano’s murder.
The recommendation will be reviewed by the Hamilton Police Service Board at a meeting on Thursday.
