Hamilton police are appealing for more information following a deadly crash at Eastgate Square.

It happened shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday in the mall parking lot on Centennial Pkwy. North.

Police say a black Ford SUV being driven by a Stoney Creek man was travelling eastbound through the parking lot when it struck the LCBO building.

The 66-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe speed played a role in the crash but the Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the possibility of other contributing factors.
