Hamilton police released information clarifying the arrest of 33-year-old Caryma Sa’d for trespassing at John C. Munro International Airport on May 26.

In the original release, police implied that she was arrested when she refused to move off the roadway when directed.

Police are now reporting that Sa’d was denied entry to Doug Ford’s Progressive Conservative Campaign event happening that day and was directed to leave the premises by an event representative. She was arrested for failing to comply with that request.

Police say she was transported off the property and immediately released with a fine for Fail to Leave Premises When Directed.

“All questions related to her invitation to attend the Progressive Conservative event should be directed to the event organizer,” said Hamilton police in a media release. “This matter is now registered with the court. Out of respect for the court processes, Hamilton Police will not be making any further comment.”

Sa’d told CHCH News that she had confirmation to attend the event and says it was her intention to observe and document the rally.

On May 28, Sa’d posted to Twitter describing her timeline of events on the day she was arrested:
