Hamilton police charge man accused of punching elderly woman

A 35-year-old man has been charged with assault after he allegedly punched an elderly woman in the face on Hamilton Mountain earlier this month.
Hamilton police say it happened around 1:30 p.m. on March 11 near the intersection of Upper Gage Avenue and Fennell Avenue East.
The woman told officers that she did not interact with the man and does not know him.

Investigators say they were able to identify the man after a number of people came forward with information and video surveillance.
Police arrested the Hamilton man on Monday and charged him with assault.
Officers say he has been released with conditions and a future court date.
