Hamilton police have arrested and charged a 25-year-old man in connection with two separate robberies at financial institutions this week.

On Monday, one male suspect gave a note to a teller at a financial institution in the east end of the city. The note said this was a robbery and the suspect was armed. The suspect stole an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area.

On Tuesday, the same man approached a teller at another financial institution on the Hamilton Mountain. Once again, he gave the teller a note and stole money.

Police said no weapons were seen and no one was injured during the incidents.

Officers arrested 25-year-old Gerald Adamson Poirier of Hamilton on Wednesday. He faces 10 charges, including two counts of robbery, two counts of disguise with intent and six counts of fail to comply-probation.

Police said Poirier’s bail has been opposed.
