Hamilton police arrest trio in violent home invasion

Hamilton police have arrested two women and a man in connection with a violent home invasion on Tuesday.
Officers were called to a home near Barton St. East and Victoria Ave. North around 2 p.m.
A man told police he was awoken to a loud banging sound and found two women and a man inside his home.
After a brief struggle, the man was able to get away from the suspects and called 911. The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Officers later located the trio at a home near Wellingston St. North and Cannon St. East.
Hamilton police believe this was targeted incident.
Kimberly Wannamaker, 57, Karen Desilva, 44, and Malcom Crane, 35, are all facing break and enter, assault with a weapon and robbery charges.
Police say they found cocaine, heroin and oxycodone in the women’s possession during their arrests. Wannamaker and Desilva are facing additional drug-related charges.
