Hamilton police say the number of pedestrian deaths on city streets is devastating. They are working with the city to try to make roads safer.

Since January, 8 pedestrians were killed on Hamilton city streets. In 2021 there were a total of 9 pedestrian deaths for the whole year.

There are 10 intersections across Hamilton where police say accidents happen most often. They include locations downtown, on the mountain, and in east Hamilton.

The city has teamed up with the police service and every three months, police re-evaluate the areas that are the most accident-prone and re-direct their focus should the situation change.
