Pan Am organizers have sent a letter to the city of Hamilton asking it to consider hosting baseball for the 2015 games.

Hamilton mayor Bob Bratina has asked city council to consider Pan Am’s offer based on information that city staff is now gathering. This comes just months after city council lost out on the velodrome project when it voted to limit spending on the project in October.

Pan Am has sent the letter out to all eligible municipalities including Hamilton and Burlington to consider hosting hardball and softball for the 2015 games.

You may remember Canada beat the U.S. two to one in the last Pan Am baseball tournament to win gold.

The issue will be brought up to council formally next week. But Bratina told CHCH News building a new stadium is out of the question but there is the possibility of renovating existing facilities.
