Hamilton Palestinian group protests local coverage

As the Israeli offensive continues in Gaza, closer to home The Palestinian Association of Hamilton is pushing for more local coverage the conflict.

The group held a protest Saturday evening. It began at City Hall and concluded at CHCH’s studio. Attendees reenacted the death of four brothers on a Gaza beach.

Ann Holubeshen, the event organizer says their goal is to raise more awareness about the death toll and violence in Gaza.

“Israel says they are fighting Hamas but actually we all believe they’re doing this intentionally. So what we’re trying to do here today is bring some light to the media and to the public that this is actually happening. On CH alone we haven’t seen much coverage.”

In fairness to her statement, CHCH News has verified every newscast from 6pm and 11pm this past week.

Those broadcasts featured a story on the conflict in Gaza in every news hour but one.
