Hamilton officer charged with impaired driving

A Hamilton Police officer with 17 years on the force has been charged with impaired driving.

Police say Const. Jerome Stewart was arrested in an off-duty incident involving a single-vehicle collision with a parked car on Friday.

The 51-year-old has been charged with with Over 80 mgs. under the Criminal Code.

Stewart has been released and is due to appear in court on Aug. 23.

He has been assigned to administrative duties.
