Hamilton observes Day of Mourning for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II

Today is a Day of Mourning in Hamilton for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. The city says it will observe a moment of silence today at 1:00 p.m.

The moment of silence will be for 96 seconds to mark Queen Elizabeth’s 96 years of age.

The city’s book of condolences remains available to sign at city hall today until 4:30 p.m. Books of condolences are also available to sign at five Municipal Service Centres during their regular business hours.

There will be no impact to city services, including waste collection.
