Hamilton, Niagara police arrest 28, seize $1.6M in drugs in joint investigation

Hamilton and Niagara police have arrested 28 people and seized $1.6 million in drugs following a month-long investigation.

Local officers partnered in May with Équité Association, the former Insurance Bureau of Canada, to complete the investigation dubbed as Project Grizzly.

As a result, police laid 222 charges, executed six warrants, apprehended two firearms and seized 19 vehicles valued at $597,000.

Officers also seized $1.6 million worth of illegal drugs, including cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine.
