Hamilton mountain home struck by gunfire

Residents of a Hamilton mountain home are fortunate to have escaped injury after their home was struck by gunfire on Sunday morning.
Hamilton Police were called to the area of Montcalm Dr., near Mohawk and Garth, shortly before 11 a.m. after receiving reports of gunshots hitting a home.
An initial investigation by officers revealed that the shooting had happened at approximately 6 a.m. when the residents were asleep.
Police say no one inside the home received any injuries.
Investigators believe that this shooting is a targeted event and there is no threat to the public.

Residents in the area are encouraged to check their surveillance cameras for any suspicious activity around the time of the shooting.
