Hamilton media advisors meet Thursday

The Hamilton Media Advisory Council is holding its annual story meeting tomorrow.

It allows the city’s media outlets to gather together and discuss what stories they’re going to cover and why. The meeting also gives community members the opportunity to pitch their story ideas to the local media.

Shane Pennells with the advisory council says this meeting gives people the chance to bring forward without feeling intimidated.

“It means that anyone can bring a story in, and there are so many good stories in Hamilton that will often fly under the radar so this means that if you have a great story like a cultural event, or a festival, or you think that someone in your community could use some coverage, you can come down and pitch it right to the people who make the news.”

The meeting takes place tomorrow at 7 pm down at the Hamilton Spectator auditorium at 44 Frid St. All members of the public are invited to attend at no cost.
