Hamilton marks International Women’s Day

People across the world celebrated International Women’s Day Saturday.

In Hamilton, the day was marked at the Illuminessence Awards Gala. The event included dignitaries, celebrities and other women of influence.

The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day is “inspiring change.”

The day was first recognized by the United Nations in 1975.
