Hamilton man killed in east end crash involving HSR bus

Hamilton police continue to investigate a crash late Saturday night involving an HSR bus in the east end that killed a Hamilton man.

It happened  at about 11:58 p.m. at Gage Avenue South and Lawrence Road.

Police say a vehicle was travelling west on Lawrence Road but failed to negotiate a curve, crashing into an HSR bus that was travelling south on Gage Avenue.

The driver of the vehicle was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

There were three passengers in the vehicle. They are expected to be okay.

Police say the driver of the HSR bus and two passengers were not hurt during the collision.

The road was closed for several hours while the Collision Reconstruction unit completed their investigation.

Police have not confirmed the cause of the crash and have not released the name of the driver of the car.
