Hamilton man in life-threatening condition after hit-and-run

Hamilton police are investigating a fail-to-remain after a 42-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Emergency crews responded to Upper Wentworth St. shortly after 2 a.m. for reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Police said the collision happened between Kingfisher Dr. and the Lincoln Alexander Parkway.

Officers said the pedestrian from Hamilton was hit by a vehicle that was travelling in the southbound lanes, which did not stay at the scene.

A witness found the pedestrian and immediately called 911.

Paramedics transported the man to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Hamilton Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate.

The roadway has been reopened and police are searching the area for witnesses and video surveillance.

Police are asking any witnesses or vehicles with dash camera video that would have been in the area at the time of the collision to contact Det. Const. Wes Wilson at 905-546-4753.
