Hamilton man dies from injuries after being struck by car

Hamilton police say a 64-year-old man has died in hospital nearly a week after he was struck by a car in the city’s east end.

Police say the man was walking southbound across Barton St. at Grosvenor Ave. around 10:40 p.m. last Wednesday when he was struck by a blue Chevy Cruze.

The man was taken to hospital but died on Monday as a result of his injuries.

The Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is now investigating the incident.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with police.

No charges have been laid at this time.

Police are urging anyone who may have surveillance cameras in the area to check their footage.
