Hamilton man dead after pulled from Grand River

A young Hamilton man has died after being pulled from the Grand River in Caledonia Friday evening.

Emergency crews were called to the Caledonia dam around 5 p.m.

Police say 22 year-old Tim Christou was wading in the lower part of the river, too close to the dam, and was pulled by the undertow.

A nearby fisherman was able to drag him out of the water, and attempted CPR, but he was declared dead later in hospital.
