Hamilton man charged after two women stabbed at Maple Leaf Foods facility

A Hamilton man has been arrested after a workplace stabbing overnight.

It happened inside the Maple Leaf Foods facility on Glover Rd., near Twenty Rd. E., around 4 a.m.

Officers were called to the area for a report of an assault.

Two women were taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds. Both have non-life threatening injuries and are in stable condition in hospital.

A 39-year-old Hamilton man was arrested and has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

Police say he and the two victims are all employees of the business.

Officers are expected to be at the scene Thursday for the majority of the day.
