Hamilton man charged after reaching 180km/h on Highway 403

OPP have arrested and charged a Hamilton resident after officers stopped a vehicle reaching speeds over 180km/h on Highway 403 in Brant County.
While conducting routine speed enforcement procedures on Highway 403 around 1:50 a.m. Thursday, officers stopped a vehicle they say was recorded going over 180km/h.
The OPP say after speaking with the driver officers conducted a roadside test for impaired driving who was then taken to the station for further testing.

The driver has been identified as 24-year-old Jimmy Kiprop of Hamilton.
Kiprop faces five charges in connection with the incident, including operation while impaired and stunt driving.
A 90-day license suspension and a 7-day vehicle impoundment have been issued.
Kiprop is scheduled to appear in a Brantford court on July 13.
The OPP ask that suspected impaired drivers are reported to officers at 1-888-310-1122.
