On April 6, just shortly after 3pm, members of the Hamilton Police ACTION team were patrolling the area of Wilson Street and East Avenue North.

While doing so the officers saw a man who was struggling with two bicycles. Upon seeing the police officers the man attempted to avoid them and make any form of eye contact.

The officers found this suspicious and approached the man to investigate further.

Upon doing so the officer began making observations on one of the bicycles. The officer found that the serial number that should normally be on the bicycle appeared to be damaged.

The man provided a story that didn’t add up.

Upon further investigation, they discovered that the bicycle was reported as stolen in 2014.

As a result the officers formed reasonable grounds to believe that the man was now in possession of stolen property and he was arrested as a result.

Upon arrest, the officers seized a small quantity of Methamphetamine and Dilaudid while forming reasonable grounds to believe that the man was trafficking Methamphetamine by the manner in which the drugs were packaged and with other evidence seized during their investigation.
