Hamilton Police have arrested a man wanted for attempted murder after a stabbing in the city’s east end in January.

26-year-old Richard Jessop was wanted on an outstanding warrant. He has a long list of criminal convictions — including one for manslaughter back in 2005.

He appeared in court today and has been remanded in custody.

Police had been looking for Jessop since January 12th when 22-year old Charles Jankevicius was stabbed during a fight at a party at Jessop’s house. He suffered life threatening injuries but has since been released from hospital. The two men were apparently friends.

Jessop was arrested, without incident, in Hamilton yesterday.
