Hamilton man, 70, dead after collision on Parkdale Ave.

Hamilton police say a 70-year-old man is dead following a collision Tuesday morning involving a scooter and pickup truck.

Officers say it happened just after 10 a.m. on Parkdale Ave. North near Burland Cres. in Hamilton’s east end.

Investigators say a 24-year-old Hamilton man driving the pickup truck was turning left at the intersection when he struck the elderly man driving the motorcycle scooter.

The 70-year-old man was taken to hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

Police say the pickup truck driver was not injured. He remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Hamilton Police are investigating a fatal collision at Parkdale and Morley involving a motorcycle.

Parkdale is closed between Morley St and Brampton St in #HamOnt.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is now investigating.

Witnesses who have not spoken to police are asked to contact the CRU at 905-546-4753.

Officers say this is the 16th vehicle fatality of the year in Hamilton.
