Hamilton man, 25, charged after graffiti spree downtown

Hamilton police have charged a 25-year-old man in connection with a graffiti spree downtown Wednesday morning.

Officers said the man was seen spray painting the word “Ducer” 16 times within 20 minutes on buildings, bus shelters and hydro poles in the area of Main St. East and Sherman Ave.

When police were called to the scene shortly before 9:30 a.m., the man saw the officers and then fled the area.

Police chased down the man and arrested him. The Hamilton man is facing three counts of mischief under $5,000 and failing to comply with a probation order.
