Last November, Hamilton police charged four Hamilton-area men with second-degree murder in connection with Beck’s death.
On Friday, the men appeared virtually in a Hamilton courtroom where 22-year-old Thomas Vasquez, of Hamilton, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of manslaughter.
Nineteen-year-old Petar Kunic, of Stoney Creek, also pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily harm.
Charges against 18-year-old Albin Gashi, of Stoney Creek, and 18-year-old Cam-Thai Khath, of Stoney Creek, were withdrawn.
Police say the murder was fueled by a road rage incident that happened earlier in the night at the intersection of Binbrook Rd. and Highway 56.
According to the agreed statement of facts, Gashi, Khath, Kunic, Vasquez and another friend were travelling west on Binbrook Rd. after leaving a house party.
While stopped at the intersection, the group engaged in a verbal confrontation with Beck and his friend who were in a separate vehicle.
The groups initially went their separate ways, however, a short time later, Beck and his friend were confronted in the driveway of a home on Binbrook Rd. by the group of men and a fight ensued.
Vasquez and Kunic will appear in court on September 14 for sentencing.
