Hamilton house fire

An early-morning house fire in Hamilton meant classes were cancelled at a nearby school.

Smoke from this blaze on John Street North billowed into St. Lawrence Elementary School leading to the school closing for the day.

The house was destroyed and fire crews were forced to get out when the first floor collapsed into the basement.

Investigators haven’t figured out what sparked this fire.

No one was hurt.
